Rainy season serves as the least favorite season for
some Filipinos. Particularly for travelers, it restricts their ability to
travel to different places due to cancellation of flights or voyage. For
mountaineers, it could be a dangerous season (but who can stop them from hiking
anyway?). But did you know that there is an activity which is best enjoyed during
rainy season? And that is Water Tubing.
Water Tubing, as an alternative of Water Rafting wherein
inflatable tires are set up uniquely and the person/s seats on it while it
flows consciously thru river currents. It is fun, extreme and a unique kind of
activity that everyone will surely enjoy. Here are some provinces that offer
Water Tubing activities:
LOCATION: TIGNOAN
RIVER at REAL, QUEZON PROVINCE
DISTANCE: About 5
kilometers stretch
LENGTH OF
ACTIVITY:
3 to 4 hours (depending on river current)
HOW TO GET
THERE:
Ride a van or bus located at Legarda Manila bound to Real, Quezon. You may
alight at Brgy. Tanauan and look for the registration site for the water tubing
activity.
ESTIMATED
COST OF THE ACTIVITY: PhP300.00 to PhP350.00 per person
DESCRIPTION: If you
are looking for a quick getaway near Manila with a unique kind of experience
then you may want to go to Real Quezon. Enjoy either smooth or bumpy ride as
you course down the river of Tignoan.
LOCATION: SIITAN
RIVER at NATIPUNAN, QUIRINO PROVINCE
DISTANCE: About 1
kilometer long
LENGTH OF
ACTIVITY:
15 to 30 minutes (depending on river current)
HOW TO GET
THERE:
Ride a bus located at Cubao or Sampaloc Manila bound to anywhere at Quirino
ESTIMATED
COST OF THE ACTIVITY: PhP600.00 to PhP700.00 per person
DESCRIPTION: The
province of Quirino has a lot to offer and one of which is water tubing at
Siitan River. Other than tubing, you may enjoy the river with activities such
as kayaking, scenic views and 20 feet cliff jumping.
LOCATION: BUGANG
RIVER at PANDAN, ANTIQUE PROVINCE
DISTANCE: About 1
kilometer long
LENGTH OF
ACTIVITY:
15 to 30 minutes (depending on river current)
HOW TO GET
THERE:
Book a flight to either Kalibo or Caticlan then ride a bus bound to San Jose,
Antique. Alight at municipality of Pandan and ride a tricycle going to Malumpati
Spring.
ESTIMATED
COST OF THE ACTIVITY: PhP200.00
DESCRIPTION: Probably
the cleanest river amongst the three. Bugang River rafting is technically new
in terms of tubing. In fact, they only celebrated their 1st year
anniversary last 7 November 2016. Getting to the start of the tubing will
require you to trek for about 30minutes and at the end of the activity is the
beautiful Malumpati Cold Spring.
There are many possible rafting sites in the country.
And with rainy season as an inevitable season in the country, tourism office of
respective provinces should never stop planning on what can be best offered
during this season. For me, rainy season is not bad after all; it all depends
on how you enjoy it.
