TANAY RIZAL: A DayTrip Guide To Adventure

Tanay Rizal is considered to be a tourism haven of Rizal province. This 1st class municipality are filled with lots of nature-tripping activities. They have enchanting falls, scenic mountain views, historical sites, wonderful caves, team-building activity sites and delicious foods.

Those who are up for a quick tour experience can expect a lot on their adventure sites. Here is a guide on what are the places to visit in Tanay, Rizal.

TOURISM SITES

San Ildefonso Church (aka Tanay Church)
Location: M.H. Del Pilar Street, Tanay Rizal


Its construction began as early as 1773 and was finished after ten (10) years. By the year 1999, it was declared as one of the five Jubilee Churches in the Diocese of Antipolo. On 31 July 2001, San Ildefonso Church was declared to be a National Culture Treasure by the National Commission for Culture and Arts along with 25 other churches in the Philippines.

Daranak and Batlag Falls
Location: Daranak Falls Road, Tanay Rizal


One of its well-known tourism destination is the Daranak Falls. Currently operated by the local government. This waterfalls stands 14 meters high and almost 30 foot deep. Its clear and clean waters would not resist visitors to plunge themselves into its basin. Just like other waterfalls, Daranak falls is best visited during rainy season in order to appreciate more its strong gushing waters.

Just above within the area of Daranak is the Batlag falls. However, since it is privately owned, higher fees were usually imposed by the owners. Between the two (2) falls, Daranak was way better than the other.

Calinawan Cave
Location: Brgy. Tandang Kutyo, Tanay Rizal



Cave enthusiast probably heard this well-known cave in Tanay. Rich in stalagmites, stalactites and columns, this cave is perfect for beginners and could potentially strike an interest to some and explore more caves in the country. The caving can be done for at least 15 to 30 minutes but with lots of beautiful crystal-like stones, no one can resists taking a photo shoot on majority of the cave spots.

Regina Rica
Location: Marikina-Infanta Highway, Tanay Rizal

Known for the statue of Our Lady of Holy Rosary that stands over 70 meters high in a 13 hectares land. Commonly visited by people during holy week to pray or by people who wants to have a peaceful retreat. This destination then turned out to be a tourism site that can be included in the tour. 

Nagpatong Rock Formation
Location: Brgy. Cuyambao, Tanay Rizal



Tanay is also a perfect destination for mountaineers. And one of its mountain attraction is the Nagpatong Rock Formation. Hiking the mountain would take at least 2 to 3 hours depending on one's hiking pace. At the top of the mountain is its well-known flat peak. Climbing the peak could is a different thing for it would require someone to climb and balance on a very steep ladder. Once hikers reached the top of the peak, a very rewarding views of the Sierra Madre mountain ranges awaits.

Parola Lighthouse
Location: G. Del Pilar Street, Tanay Dike, Tanay Rizal

Situated along the dike of Tanay proper, Parola lighthouse is a recommended place to end the tour on Tanay. Climb up the lighthouse and enjoy the view of the sunset.
